I got out for a couple of hours today and found 1 rosie 1957 2 mercs 1942,1929 3 washington qtrs 1939,1943,1957 1 sterling ring and 1 1939 class ring marked josten dura-tone. any idea if dura-tone is low carat gold? it looks like 10k gold.

...and I forget, where did you say this hot spot was?

Wow - a six silver hunt is fantastic!

Here's a little note on Duratone:

"Jostens introduced its first low-cost alternative to gold, a mix of silver and gold called Duratone, during the Depression."

I couldn't find anything that gave a specific carat rating, but would imagine it's no more than 10K.

I am guessing less than 10k or it would be marked 10k. These were found in the water and the ring wasn't tarnished at all.
