This is about as good as it gets for winter river hunting. Low water levels, warm temperatures, no snow. I see a short window of Monday and Tuesday that could provide excellent hunting conditins that might dig up some stuff I missed when I intensly hunted these sites.
They have never been searched with these newer metal detectors and the rivers are always changing course. Its kinda like Loring where you could never hunt the site completely devoid of coins.
So I was thinking that with smart phones I could probably guide several groups to some sites that produced for me. You get to the site and I put you on the exact spot where the action was. That would allow you to avoid walking many miles of river bank that are devoid of anything but massive amounts of trash.
Some sites of interest.
Anoka boat ramp in Anoka fair Grounds. One token dump
Camden Bridge One token dump
Minnehaha Creek Minnetonka Mills
Intersection of Elm Creek and Mississippi River.
Couple places in River upstream from Coon Rapids Dam
Rum River in Front of Anoka Hospital
Rum River between old and new boat ramp in City of Anoka
Most of these sites are safe but I would recomend that you never hunt them alone
