Got out and detected a small park this afternoon with my daughter just so I could say I have metal detected in January in Minnesota I know that it may be the only time I ever do that in my life time ... lol
found one penny (not a zinc) that was only 1/2 inch under the turf.... ground was frozen so I really had to work to get it. Then we moved to some dirt piles by the hockey rink and found a few whatzit's before calling it quits. Well at least I can say I metal detected in january in minnesota __________________ Beep! Beep!

I did not find much either, but I had a blast. I got a really good signal, at one but could not get through the 8 inches of permafrost. Other areas the digging was super easy go figure. The bad thing is by the time the ground thaws the spot with the good signal will be covered with concrete. |
